MARIE BUCHAN
Marie grew up in the Northeast of Scotland and often travels up to Pennan to paint or to take photographs. The beautiful scenery never ceases to inspire.
She has a Diploma in Graphic Design from the College of Commerce and a HONS degree in Computing from RGU. She always liked painting and drawing but only took it up seriously when she was in her 50’s after completing a course in Computer Art at the local Banff and Buchan College in Fraserburgh. The principal at the time, Paul Sherrington bought her final painting, and it inspired her to take her art a bit further.
She has done many commissions and during the pandemic offered lessons on Zoom. She has donated paintings to the cancer charity Maggie’s Art and sick children’s charity Archies Art as well as to the Pennan Ball on several occasions.
