DEREK McWILLIAM

I first visited Pennan aged 16 and have never forgotten that dramatic first impression.

My wife and I are fortunate to be close friends of Alex and Jill Forbes in whose house, Unshaven, we have spent many happy holidays.

I was delighted when Alex, who has seen practically everything I have painted, asked if I would be willing to make a contribution to the art auction by painting something with a village link.

I have no formal art training but I doubt if I could have found better teachers than the artists whose tutorials I have followed since I retired.  I prefer to paint landscapes but I will have a go at anything I find interesting!

Lot Number 4

“Ricky’s Run” by Derek McWilliam

Watercolour size 56.5cm x 45cm

Original Artwork

Looking along the street in Pennan and you can just about hear Ricky’s motorbike coming in the distance!

A very special, true to life image of Pennan village.
